Welcome
The B Sharp story starts with my family, as many stories do. My husband and I have three beautiful daughters that started playing piano as preschoolers. I started piano lessons myself at the age of eight and I was happy to "help" my girls practice. Plus the old saying that necessity is the mother of invention rang true in our house. With one piano, we had to be efficient with our practice time. And I became the facilitator.
As my girls grew older, they added three more instruments to the mix: a violin, a cello and a flute. I soon learned that the practice skills we developed as a team lent themselves to their second instruments as well. Despite not knowing how to play all of the instruments, I will still able to assist. I also learned that effective practicing skills worked equally well for solo performances, auditions, orchestral concerts, symphonic bands concerts and marching band shows.
My professional experience has been in the private investment sector of the financial industry. For the last twelve years, I have been president of an investment fund administration company. Throughout my professional career, I have remained very involved with my daughters' musical ambitions. I have accompanied them on piano and continued to support their musical efforts with individual and group practice sessions and developing performance strategies for concerts, auditions, and other extra-curricular musical events.
This picture is special to me, not only that you can have faces to my family's story, but also because it was taken at a loved one's wedding where my daughters performed as a trio for the ceremony. Music is a gift to be shared and there is more to learning to share this gift than just learning the right notes. And so became B Sharp.
